What are the differences between a website and a blog?

•September 29, 2008 • Leave a Comment

You can find the origin of the word blog in the glued words Web and Log. A blog is usually written by an individual person, formatted as a series of entries, with a title and a date. These entries are called posts. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.

Regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. How blogs become popular: popularity through citations, popularity through affiliation (i.e. blogroll). It takes time for a blog to become popular through blogrolls. Blogs are given rankings based on the number of incoming links.
